Change in the PZE 25 team – Slaven Došlo steps down as host

Actor Slaven Došlo will no longer be part of the hosting team for this year’s Pesma za Evroviziju. He made this announcement via his Instagram profile, stating that, under the current social circumstances, he does not see the possibility of fulfilling the role of host with full integrity.

The actor wrote on his official Instagram account:

„With great gratitude to the RTS Entertainment Program team for the invitation and with respect for their efforts in organizing this complex event, I would like to inform you that I have decided not to be part of Eurovision Song Contest this year. Under the current social circumstances, I do not see the possibility of fulfilling the role of host in a way I believe to be right, nor can I stand behind myself or the event in the manner I consider appropriate. Thank you to the audience for understanding.“

Following his withdrawal, Dragana Kosjerina and Kristina Radenković will remain as the hosting duo on the main stage, while Stefan Popović and Đorđe Živadinović will report from the green room.

These changes followed the decision by RTS to alter the festival schedule, with the first semifinal taking place on February 25, the second semifinal on February 26, and the final scheduled for February 28.

Olivera Kovačević, the editor of the RTS Entertainment Program and supervisor of the ESC, commented on Došlo’s decision, saying she understands all participants and their views, but RTS has a responsibility towards the performers and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which is why the festival will proceed as planned.

„Pesma za Evroviziju is not separate from society and the situation in the country, but we will make every effort to ensure the competition proceeds smoothly. We regret that Slaven Došlo has decided not to host the festival, but we understand everyone’s position and hold no grudges.“

Pesma za Evroviziju 2025 will also have an official partner—EXPO 2027, and the winner of the festival will represent Serbia at Eurovision in Basel.
