Who is Klavdia?
Klavdia is a rising star on the Greek music scene. She first came into the spotlight as a finalist on The Voice of Greece, and quickly found commercial success with her hit singles “Haramata” and “Vasanizomai”, both of which achieved platinum status.
Her popularity soared on TikTok as well, where she currently has over 200,000 followers.
Last year, she was awarded Best New Artist at the Super Music Awards in Cyprus. Now, she’s facing the biggest challenge of her career – taking the Eurovision stage.
Following her national selection victory, Klavdia and her team have begun intensive preparations for Basel. Further production enhancements and a carefully crafted stage performance are expected to elevate “Asteromáta” to new heights and give Greece a strong shot at the title.
The Song: „Asteromáta“
“Asteromáta” was written by the team Arcade, in collaboration with Klavdia Papadopoulou. It is an emotional and symbolic song about Greek – and other – refugees and the unbreakable connection to their homeland, which remains in their hearts no matter where life takes them.
The lyrics portray a metaphorical dialogue between a mother and her missing child, offering mutual comfort, hope, and resilience.
In interviews, Klavdia, who is of Pontic Greek descent, shared that the song is meant to honor those who were forced to leave their homes, while sending a message of strength and optimism.

Greece at Eurovision
Greece made its Eurovision debut in 1974 with the song “Krassi, Thalassa Ke T’ Agori Mou” performed by Marinella. Over the years, the country has seen many successful entries, with its biggest victory coming in 2005 when Helena Paparizou won with “My Number One.”
In recent years, Greece has mostly relied on internal selections. The last full national final before this year was held in 2015. Last year’s representative, Marina Satti, finished 11th in the grand final with her entry “Zari”, after placing an impressive 5th in the semi-final.
With a powerful song and a striking voice, Klavdia is certainly one of the artists to watch this May.
Can Greece repeat its 2005 triumph? Time will tell!
