Who are the favorites?

According to our Instagram followers, Sweden has clearly emerged as the biggest favorite of the first semi-final, with an impressive average score of 3.84. This result comes as no surprise, given Sweden’s long-standing status as a Eurovision powerhouse, whose entries almost always spark massive interest.

This year, the group KAJ is already seen by many as serious contenders for the overall victory, and their song has evidently struck a chord with the Serbian audience.

Will Sweden manage to meet expectations and conquer Europe once again? We’ll find out in the coming days.

Right behind Sweden are Norway and Albania, both scoring very high marks as well. According to Serbian fans, these two countries made a strong musical and visual impact and are seen as safe finalists.

Norway stands out with its traditionally strong fanbase, while Albania has charmed audiences this year with an emotional performance and authentic style.

Pleasant surprises come in the form of Cyprus and Poland, both landing among the top five. This ranking shows that the Serbian audience appreciates musical diversity and that approaches blending modern sound with local identity can resonate very well.

On the other hand, songs from Ukraine and Portugal received the lowest scores – 1.98 and 2.01, respectively. This may indicate a lack of connection with the local audience or a more experimental musical direction that failed to gain broader support. Alongside them, Slovenia, Azerbaijan, and Iceland also performed poorly, with Serbian fans not seeing them as likely finalists due to their less impactful entries compared to the competition.

What about the betting odds?

Polls like the one we conducted on Instagram often serve as an indicator of public sentiment and show how songs are perceived before we see them live on stage.

Although these fan votes are informal, it’s interesting how often they align with actual outcomes – many highly-rated fan favorites do end up in the finals, sometimes even topping the scoreboard.

Looking at the betting odds, they currently reflect the perception of the Serbian audience – Sweden is in the top spot, both among fans and according to bookmakers, further solidifying its status as the main favorite.

Similarly, when it comes to countries with the lowest chances of qualifying, fan opinions and betting odds mostly align – Portugal, Azerbaijan, and Slovenia are near the bottom of both lists.

However, there is one notable discrepancy: while our followers placed Ukraine at the very bottom, bookmakers rank Ukraine very high – in third place, indicating strong confidence from the wider Eurovision community. On the other hand, Croatia, positively rated by Serbian fans and seen as a potential finalist, holds a much lower ranking with the bookmakers.

This difference shows that regional preferences can vary greatly from the broader European audience and that songs often gain popularity after rehearsals and live performances, where staging can completely change perceptions.
