The Eurovision week has officially begun! Today, on Sunday, May 11, the grand Opening Ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 took place — the traditional Turquoise Carpet, which this year unfolded in the heart of Basel, in an atmosphere that only Eurovision can deliver.
All 37 participants of this year’s contest took part in this glamorous event, including Princ, the representative of Serbia. Accompanied by the dancers who will perform with him on the big stage in the semi-final, Princ walked the Turquoise Carpet with dignity and a smile, greeting the gathered fans and media representatives.
Alongside his artistic and stage team, Princ was also accompanied by the Head of the Serbian Delegation and RTS PR representative Duška Vučinić, who has been responsible for Serbia’s Eurovision image for many years.
Throughout the afternoon, Basel was immersed in Eurovision spirit — participants made their way from City Hall through the city center, cheered on by loud applause and surrounded by the sounds of carnival marching bands, techno acts, drummers, and traditional instrumentalists. After the parade, the delegations were transported by vintage trams to the Eurovision Village, where the event continued with an open-air music program.
The Opening Ceremony and Turquoise Carpet parade not only mark the start of the competition week, but also give the participants a chance to shine — in fashion, culture, and artistry. Princ certainly succeeded in doing so, once again showing that Serbia is bringing serious power to the stage and screen this year.
