With only a few hours left until the official announcement of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 host city, Europe is on its feet, but not just because of the suspense. There’s a charming tradition that has built up over the years, one that has become just as important as the announcement itself – Netta’s prediction.
The winner of Eurovision 2018, known for her catchy song „Toy“, has gained a reputation for consistently getting her forecasts wrong, which for Eurovision fans is a clear signal of the correct answer.
Since 2019, Netta has unfailingly guessed the host city incorrectly, turning it into a running joke within the Eurovision community. Every time Netta posts her choice, fans already know that the true answer will be the other option.
Here are her previous „wrong“ predictions:
- 2019: She predicted Jerusalem, but the host was Tel Aviv.
- 2021: She predicted Amsterdam, but the host was Rotterdam.

This year, just a few hours before the official announcement, Netta has once again fulfilled her tradition. In a short video on her Instagram profile, she announced that her choice for the host city is Innsbruck.
Given that the two cities in the running are Vienna and Innsbruck, and following Netta’s tradition, all signs point to the Eurovision 2026 host being Vienna.
